All members of the Residents’ Association Committee are expected to abide by the code of conduct below.

  1. Members should at all times conduct themselves at meetings and in communication on matters to do with the OSC committee in a manner that respects others rights’ and dignity. Any member may be asked to leave the committee for a breach of this condition or for any other conduct contravening the constitution of the OSC Committee. A majority vote of those committee members present is sufficient.
  2. All committee members are expected to have the best interests of The Old Sheriff Court residents in mind at all times, and as a residents’ representative,  bring forward the views of residents in general. I
  3. In their roles as members of the OSC Residents’ Association Committee, residents must not act in a manner that might bring the Association into disrepute.
  4. Members are expected to set an appropriate example by maintaining their factoring account in good order.
  5. All committee members are responsible for understanding and complying with the association’s Information Security and Privacy Policies, and any other processes or policies that may be in force.
  6. Members should be aware of the confidential and sensitive nature of information that they may be given or may be told to them by other residents.
  7. Strive to attend all meetings, sending apologies to the secretary for necessary absences.
  8. Prepare for the meeting by reading the agenda, papers and any emails before the meeting. Talk to the chair before the meeting if you need to clarify anything.
  9. Arrive on time for meetings, and participate fully in the meeting
  10. Draw attention to any potential conflicts of interest that may arise in the meeting, including anything that directly relates to their personal circumstances.
  11. Fulfil any responsibilities assigned to a committee member at the meeting and be prepared to report back on progress at the next meeting.
